Trackside Log for Sunday, August 13, 2006

It was another beautiful day in the neighbourhood. I decided to visit Bayview Junction. I hadn't been there since the construction of the third track began.

• 1059 Bayview Junction - Via 93 west - VIA 6429
• 1147 Bayview Junction - CN 385 west - CN 2634-GTW 5944-CN 9626
• 1201 Bayview Junction - CN 398 east - CN 2653-CN 5338

I broke for lunch then drove to Snake Road to see the new signals.

• 1253 Snake - Via 73 west - VIA 6416/VIA 6403
• 1300 Snake - CN 422 east - CN 5643-CN 2528
• 1315 Snake - Via 72 east - VIA 912
• 1318 Snake - CN 393 west - CN 2551-BNSF 6791

Train 393 was pulling through Snake for headroom to back onto their train. I took the opportunity to photograph the reverse move on digital.

After 393 put its train back together I took another shot with a longer lens when it departed Aldershot.

CN trains 148 and 435 were in the vicinity but the light was degrading quickly. I wanted to photograph the three RaiLink geeps in Hamiton yard so I took the opportunity since the light would be reasonable.

Both 1755 and 1756 were involved in an accident on the Hagersville subdivision. Bent frames resulted.

Then I returned home. I posted the day's photos to my website then took some food trackside in Merritton to see the Maple Leaf.

The Maple Leaf was an hour late getting to the border but eventually it arrived.

Well the Maple Leaf was still about an hour late. Time to call it a day.
