Trackside Log for Saturday, January 28, 2006

This morning I woke up and thought it might be nice to go to Fort Erie. As I headed out I heard the detector at mile18 of the Grimsby subdivision. I knew it might be NS 328 so I drove to Merritton.

• 0935 Merritton - NS 328 east - NS 9956-NS 8303

NS 328 was meeting CN 422 at Clifton. I figured it was a good time to make my way to Fort Erie where I could see 328 again.

• 1113 Fort Erie - NS 328 east - NS 9956-NS 8303
• 1248 Fort Erie - CP 419 west - CP 8726
• 1349 Fort Erie - CN 333 east - CN 5383
• 1510 Fort Erie - NS 369 west - NS 8402-NS 9130-NS 6688-CN 2227
• 1542 Fort Erie - CP 257 west - CP 9669

After 257 I headed for home via Welland where I caught it again.

• 1618 Feeder East - CP 257 north - CP 9669
• 1627 Welland - CP 248 south - CP 9812-CEFX 1044

Before long I was home after a fairly rewarding day. It was interesting that I saw more NS and more CP trains on CN than CN trains.
